Farmland vs Gold: Which Builds Wealth?

Gold, fixed deposits and land are the three things Indian families have trusted most. Each does a different job.
Side by side
| Gold | Fixed deposit | Managed farmland | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you own | Metal or units | A bank deposit | Registered land |
| Regular income | None | Interest | Crop income, subject to terms |
| Liquidity | High | High | Low: land takes time to sell |
| Use | None | None | Visit, stay, grow food |
| Main risk | Price swings | Inflation | Crop, legal and resale risk |
Where farmland fits
Farmland suits money you won't need for many years. It is a real asset you can visit, and managed farmland removes the work of running it. It shouldn't replace your emergency savings.
